About SWB

Hello, and welcome to Support Women – Baltimore!

When March 8, 2017 – International Women’s Day and a Day Without a Woman Strike – left many progressives discussing economic power and how to harness it for the greater good, supporting women’s businesses was obvious. But *finding* women’s businesses to support turned out not nearly as easy as it seemed.

Support Women – Baltimore is a grass roots effort to make it easy to find a woman-owned business that can provide what you need when you need it.

Vision: A region where those who want to support women-owned businesses can find them quickly and easily.

Mission: To develop a directory of women-owned businesses in the Baltimore region that is all of the following:

  1. Comprehensive: Businesses from all sectors and of all sizes should be represented.
  2. Geographically Diverse: Businesses from the entire greater Baltimore area should be represented.
  3. Intersectional: Businesses should represent the rich diversity—racial, ethnic, religious, economic, immigrant, and LGBTQ+—of the women of the region.
  4. Functional: The final product should be a web-accessible database that is free and user-friendly.

How You Fit In:

  • By adding your business to The List.
  • By using The List to find what you need when you need it.
  • By sharing this effort with your friends and colleagues, local business owners, neighborhood associations, chambers of commerce, business groups, and LinkedIn networks.

Listing Packages: There are multiple options for listings. All basic listings are free. Purchasing listing packages helps offset the costs of development, hosting, maintenance, and marketing. These are adding up quickly!
